9 Companies that Accept Bitcoin in 2022
Starbucks – Starbucks customers can now buy their coffee with bitcoin using their Starbucks app. This is available since March 2020. Bakkt is a digital asset custodian and exchange that operates the coffee chain. It was created by the company that also owns the New York Stock Exchange.
Microsoft – The Redmond, Washington software company accepts bitcoin payments for Xbox Live, other Microsoft games, Windows Apps, and other digital extras. Since 2014, it has done so.
Whole Foods (Amazon, Inc. – Whole Foods started accepting cryptocurrency for groceries starting in 2019. This was possible thanks to Flexa, a payments startup that works in partnership with Gemini, a Winklevoss-led cryptocurrency exchange.
T&T- Telecoms company AT&T, a major cellular network carrier and provider high-speed Internet and cable TV, started accepting BTC payments in 2019 as part of BitPay.
Overstock.com – Overstock.com was the first major retailer to accept bitcoin in 2014. It shocked the world when it announced that it would accept virtual money from the internet that had no value to the eyes of tech geeks. They also ship real, high-end home furniture directly to customers’ homes.
Home Depot – Home Depot started accepting bitcoin payments in 2019 powered by Flexa. A home builder could purchase all of the tools and materials needed to build a house using the Dow Jones blue chip company using cryptocurrency.
PayPal – PayPal, an early fintech payments innovator, began offering support to merchants that accept bitcoin payment through the PayPal button in April 2021.
Twitch – Twitch streamers can make donations to their streams using bitcoin, ether(ETH), litecoins (LTC) and bitcoin cash (BCH). Twitch streamers make more money from cryptocurrency donations than average lawyers and doctors.
Etsy – Blue-chip online merchant company Etsy provides integrations that make bitcoin payments easy for independent online merchants.
