According to Fast Private Jet, Slovenia is the most crypto-friendly country in the world. Its capital, Ljubljana, is also the most welcoming European destination for digital asset business.
Central Europe leads the way
Fast Private Jet, an Italian aviation company, conducted a global study to find out which countries accept cryptocurrency as a payment method. Slovenia was ranked first while the Czech Republic, a Central European country, was second. The top six were rounded out by Colombia, Argentina, Spain, Japan, and Spain.
There are 72 shops in Slovenia that accept bitcoins or altcoins for payment. Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is also the most crypto-friendly European city. It currently has more than 137 businesses and 584 locations that accept digital asset payments. The largest shopping center in the country is called “BTC City.”
Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, is Europe’s second most crypto-friendly destination. Paralelni Polis is a coffee shop where customers can only pay in bitcoin.
Spain’s Madrid is the third most welcoming city for crypto in Europe, with Malta at the bottom.
Fast Private Jet also studied the USA. It was revealed that New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Francisco had the highest number of restaurants, cafeterias and businesses that accept cryptocurrency as a payment method.
China is, unsurprisingly, one of the most crypto-friendly countries on the planet. The Chinese authorities banned all digital assets from Chinese soil last year.
Oman, Egypt and Algeria have also taken a hostile stand on the industry, and were placed right next to China.
A Coincub research earlier this month found that Germany was the most crypto-friendly country for Q1, 2022. Singapore and the USA were second and third, respectively. The study was different from Fast Private Jet’s because it took into account factors such as cryptocurrency laws in each country, fraud cases and availability of digital asset classes.
Slovenia is one of the most ‘crypto-ready’ countries
It is not the first time that the Central European country has been included in such studies. Crypto Head, a digital asset platform, determined last year that Slovenia was the 7th most crypto-ready country with a score of 5.96.
The company used several factors to perform the research. These included the number of ATMs and annual crypto Google searches per 100,000 people.
It’s no surprise that the USA occupied the top spot, with over 30,000 automated cryptoteller machines. The second place was occupied by Cyprus, a Mediterranean island.
