Rihanna Files Application To Offer Products In The Metaverse

Josh Gerben, U.S. trademark attorney, said that Rihanna, singer and businesswoman filed a new set of trademark applications on March 14 to offer her cosmetics and other products in a “virtual format” in the metaverse.

Rihana will be following in the footsteps of many famous celebrities and well-known brands in fashion, like Victoria’s Secret and L’Oreal.

Rihanna plans to expand her fashion empire in the metaverse

Rihanna, 34 years old, has not only dominated the music industry with her songs, but she has also created a fashion company worth more than 570 millions dollars in just four years.

The artist isn’t content with the physical world. She wants to be a leader in WEB 3.0 and establish her brand in the metaverse. The question is, where will Rihanna invest?

Rihanna has applied for a trademark that will allow her to offer “virtual cosmetics” and hair care products under the FENTY brand.

Although she hasn’t revealed much, it can be assumed that Decentraland is the best place for artists to enter the metaverse. It is home to many events, both sporting and musical. Decentraland will host the first fashion week of all Web 3.0 in March.

All fashionistas, brands, and designers are invited to apply. Metaverse Fashion Week is presented by @UNXD_NFT and Decentraland. Your collections are ready for the week of catwalk shows, pop-up shops and immersive experiences from 24th to 27th March 2022. pic.twitter.com/BXkpAV1TOJ

Users will have the opportunity to watch live presentations and to purchase the accessories and products on display throughout the week to outfit their avatars.

Other big brands like Nike, Adidas and Reebok have also made investments in the metaverse.

The Metaverse welcomes Mainstream Celebrities

Many celebrities are currently in the metaverse, either in The Sandbox, or Decentraland. They are looking for new ways to get their music and products to people who can’t physically go to their concerts or stores, or simply want to be able to listen from their homes.

On Tuesday, March 15, Paris Hilton, actress and DJ, announced her partnership with The Sandbox at a live DJ gig at the South by Southwest Film Festival. This caused The Sandbox’s native token (SAND), to rise by more than 8 percent.

You can become a virtual land owner by attending SXSW.

These platforms could continue to improve their immersive experiences by allowing more artists like Rihanna, Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg to join the metaverse.
