Over $400M in Liquidations as Bitcoin Price Skyrockets to $47K

Bitcoin’s price soared to $47,000 this morning, a level we haven’t seen since January 2, 2012. Volatility also had an impact on the market. In the last 24 hours, there were more than $410 million in liquidations.

The price of Bitcoin is steadily rising as it enters a 7th consecutive green-day. It was at $47,000 as of today, but has risen to $47,650 on Binance earlier today. This is an increase of approximately 13.5% over the previous seven days.

Coinglass data shows that Bitmex was the site with the largest single liquidation order. It was a BTC perpetual, with a face worth of $10 million. Almost 80% of liquidated positions were very short.
