Market Watch: Trading Volume at Monthly Lows as Bitcoin Stalls Amid $21K

The crypto market is not making any significant movements this weekend, which makes it very similar to the last one. Bitcoin is stuck at $21,000 while altcoins are barely in the black as their trading volume has fallen to a monthly low.

Bitcoin Holds tight at $21K

The primary cryptocurrency jumped to $20,000. It took some time before it broke through that mark and continued charting new heights over the next few days.

Thursday’s price surge was the largest, with Bitcoin jumping to $22,500. This was the highest price of the asset since June.

The bulls expected another leg up at this stage, but they failed. Bitcoin retraced by just a few hundred bucks. It sank below $22,000 yesterday and is now just above $21,000

According to Bitcoinity, it’s important to note that yesterday’s trading volume fell to its lowest level in over a month.

Despite the small daily retracement BTC’s market capital still exceeds $400 billion and its dominance is just above 43% over altcoins.

ltcoins are Still Standing

Altcoins are often known for their high volatility. However, they have performed unexpectedly in recent days with very little to no movements.

Ethereum lost around 3% in value over the past day, and is now below $1,200. The asset reached a multi-week high of well over $1,250 just a few days back.

BNB, Solana and Polkadot all fell by similar percentages over a single day to below $240, below $40 and $7.1, respectively.

Cardano and Tron are slightly in red as well as Ripple and Cardano. Shiba Inu has risen by just over 11%. Litecoin gained the most from larger-cap alts, with a 4% rise.

The total market cap for all crypto assets is almost at the same level as yesterday, just below $950 billion.
