GameStop, an American videogame retailer, has launched its long-awaited marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFT).
The official press release from Monday stated that the platform will allow gamers, creators and avid NFT collectors buy, sell and trade digital collectibles. The platform currently lists over 230 NFT collection listings. Future updates will include support for ImmutableX.
The company stated that the marketplace would expand its functionality over time to include additional categories like Web3 gaming, more creators, or other Ethereum environments.
GameStop announced its intention to launch its NFT trading platform in February. The company changed the launch date from February to July in March. This marketplace is launched two months after GameStop introduced its NFT and non-custodial crypto wallets. It allows users to interact directly with decentralized applications from their web browsers, even without leaving GameStop’s website.
