FTX Europe, the European subsidiary for the US crypto exchange FTX, has teamed up with Tomorrowland. The agreement stipulates that the trading venue will support its partner’s Web3, NFT and crypto-related initiatives in order to bring their “truly original and magical events” to the digital space.
The World of Crypto: The ‘People of Tomorrow’ Will Jump in The World of Crypto
The European affiliate of FTX – FTX Europe – has joined forces with Tomorrowland, the largest international dance music festival. The cryptocurrency exchange will support its associates in the Web3 space and NFT area.
The festival specifically promised to use blockchain technology in all its future events and bring out the best of it. These include the Tomorrowland Winter in Belgium and the award-winning digital festival Tomorrowland Around The World.
The collaboration will release Metaverse experiences and tokens that are non-fungible to music lovers. Tomorrowland’s transition to Web3 may open up many options for festival-goers looking to buy virtual tickets or engage with their favorite artists in the near future.
Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO and Founder at FTX, said that it was exciting to see “the continued blending of cryptocurrency, music and events.” He believes Tomorrowland’s future initiatives would give attendees a “fun, interactive way to gain exclusive access to events.”
Michiel Beers, the founder of Tomorrowland, also commented on the matter:
Tomorrowland has been pushing the boundaries of creativity since day one. We strive to make the best experiences for the People of Tomorrow. Web3’s evolution opens up a world of possibilities and gives us the chance to strengthen our community over the next few years.
Tomorrowland, a Belgian electronic music festival, is held in Boom (Flanders). The first edition was held in 2005, with “only” 10,000 attendees. The event gained huge popularity over the next ten years thanks to renowned DJs such as Avicii and Tiesto. Tomorrowland attracted over 400,000 people in 2018, a record.
FTX And Coachella
Tomorrowland isn’t the only music festival FTX has partnered. The exchange partnered with The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival earlier this year to offer non-fungible token collections (NFT).
The digital collectibles can be divided into three groups: “Coachella Keys Collection”, “Sights and Sounds Collection,” and the “Desert Reflections Collection.” This last one celebrates the festival’s 20-year history.
