Frances Haugen (a Facebook whistleblower) has disclosed that her financial future is “fine” because she purchased an undisclosed amount crypto at “the right moment.”
Cryptocurrency for Financial Protection
Haugen stated that cryptocurrency investments are helping her to maintain her Puerto Rico shelter. Despite receiving money from non-profit organizations (NPO), she manages her financial resources.
Politico reported last week that Haugen received financial assistance from several NPOs which she used only for “traveling” and “related expenses. Pierre Omidyar is a billionaire entrepreneur who also co-founded eBay and reportedly donated $150,000 to Whistleblower Aid.
Haugen stated, “For the foreseeable future I’m fine because I bought crypto at the right moment.”
Facebook’s Leaked Documents
Haugen was a product manager at Facebook before becoming a whistleblower. This helped to bring the social media platform into the limelight. The Wall Street Journal was able to obtain thousands of internal Facebook documents.
Haugen alleged that the social media platform spread misinformation and sensitive material. This included information about human trafficking, harming nationalist groups, COVID-19 misinformation, and misinformation regarding vaccines. She stated that Facebook prioritizes profits over the well-being and safety of all users and that it ignored most concerns of workers about the content.
After the documents were leaked, she moved to Puerto Rico to address a “health condition” as well as to join her “crypto friends” there. The Island is a paradise for crypto asset lovers since they enjoy certain capital tax exclusions.
Edward Snowden is another whistleblower supporting cryptocurrency. He was a former computer intelligence contractor who leaked classified documents from the National Security Agency in 2013. Edward Snowden, a former computer intelligence consultant who leaked highly classified documents from the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013, is another whistleblower who supports crypto. He believes that China’s crackdown has made Bitcoin more powerful than it has ever been.
CryptoPotato recently reported on Snowden’s position on CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies), calling them a “perversion” of cryptocurrency.
