Dogecoin Co-Creator Fires Back at Mozilla’s Environmental Concerns
Mozilla is now under fire from crypto-insiders after it decided to suspend digital asset donations following backlash from one its co-founders. Dogecoin’s founder was one of the most vocal critics, claiming Mozilla had succumbed to an “ignorant and reactionary internet mob.”
The Mozilla Foundation, a San Francisco-based non profit organization that supports the development of Firefox, has long allowed crypto donations. It recently added Dogecoin, the largest memecoin in terms of market capital, to its portfolio. This statement was criticized by many who were involved with Mozilla Foundation. Jamie Zawinsk was the most harsh critic, saying that the Mozilla Foundation should be “witheringly ashamed” to partner with “planet infuriating Ponzi grifters.”
