The third largest bitcoin whale appears to be back after the New Year holidays, and has just made his first significant purchase of 2022.

Bitinfocharts data shows that the third largest bitcoin address has bought 456 BTC at an average of $46,363 per transaction on January 4th. This is a significant buy for the entity, which is clearly taking advantage of the volatile price action. Bitcoin has fallen 1.7% and 8.9% over the last 24 hours, trading at $46K.
