Bitstamp has entered into a partnership agreement with Immortals, a U.S. professional esports organisation. This will make Bitstamp the official cryptocurrency exchange for the gaming company.
Bitstamp Teams Up With Immortals
Immortals released the news via a press release Wednesday, February 9, 2002. According to the statement Bitstamp will be a founding member in the esports organisation as a result of the agreement.
This partnership will educate the Immortals about crypto and provide incentives for their fans. This is Bitstamp’s second partnership with an esports brand. The first was with Guild Esports in London, which was worth PS4.5 million ($6million).
Bitstamp will continue to work with Immortals on various projects. One initiative, Team Bitstamp is a group of content creators who will act as brand ambassadors for the exchange. This team will offer content, exclusive crypto giveaways and interactive livestreams to fans.
Immortals Invasion was created to celebrate the League of Legends World Championships that will be held in North America in 2022. To celebrate the League of Legends community, there will be vlogs, live gaming activations and other engagements by Immortals as well as the Immortals Progressive League of Championship Series team.
Bitstamp will offer cryptocurrency giveaways as part of the Immortals LCS Trigger Program. Fans get the chance to win digital assets every time Immortals draw “first blood” in any LSC-related game.
The growing link between crypto and esports
Bobby Zagotta, Bitstamp USA’s CEO, commented on the collaboration, saying:
“Our partnership with Immortals extends our mission to empower customers by creating an authentic experience between gaming and crypto. The esports community has a diverse and passionate fan base that is highly aware of the digital evolution. It was the first to integrate digital assets into their industry.
The partnership between Bitstamp and Immortals will also explore future activations of non-fungible tokens (NFT) and cryptocurrency integrations.
According to Jordan Sherman, the CEO of Immortals:
“This partnership will further enhance Immortals fans experience with tangible benefits that link the crypto-gaming worlds.”
To encourage mass adoption of crypto, more cryptocurrency companies are capitalizing on the esports market. This has led to many partnerships between the two industries. Crypto.com, a global cryptocurrency partner, signed a partnership agreement with Fnatic (UK-based esports organisation), in September 2021. The deal was worth more than $15 million.
The official cryptocurrency partner of Twitch Rivals’ esports tournament series, Twitch Rivals, was also announced by the digital asset exchange in November. To revolutionize fan engagement, blockchain project Tezos signed a three-year partnership agreement with Team Vitality, a French esports brand.
