Bitcoin Adoption Should Exceed 1 Billion Users by 2030: Blockware Report

Blockware Solutions, a Bitcoin infrastructure and mining company, has published a report that analyzes the rate of Bitcoin adoption and what we can expect in the future. According to the firm’s analysis, there will be at least 1 billion Bitcoin users by 2030. The network is expected to be used by 10% of the global population.

The Math of Bitcoin’s Adoption Curve

A press release issued by the company Thursday said that the report uses the “Scurve” to plot Bitcoin’s future adoption. This theory breaks down the adoption path for new technologies into five distinct temporal stages.

These stages are determined by the order in which different types of people adopt. These are, in order: Innovators (or Early Adopters), Early Majority (or Late Majority), Laggards (or Laggards). The theory goes that the early majority and late majority stages are where most growth occurs.

According to a February report by Wells Fargo, cryptocurrency adoption follows a similar path. According to the report, crypto’s current adoption stage is similar to the internet’s in the 1990s. It also stated that it is near “hyper-adoption.”

Very early, very bullish

Blockware’s report is more optimistic than the others, predicting that Bitcoin adoption will be faster than other technologies. In just eight years, the team anticipates that 10% of the world will be connected to the network.

Blockware’s Lead Analyst for Insights, Will Clemente, discussed his predictions with Anthony Pompliano in an interview on Thursday.

He stated that “Wherever we believe Bitcoin adoption is, we think we’re getting prepared to hit the main S-curve for adoption.” It is expected that the network’s “network effects”, which are expected to have exceptional results, will be a result of its growth “on the rails” and the inclusion of monetary incentives.

According to the report, user adoption has a direct impact on Bitcoin’s price. The current number of Bitcoin users is approximately 0.36% of the world’s population.

Blockware analyst Mitch Askew stated that he expected global adoption to rise, but found the lower figure “incredibly bullish.”

Clemente stated, “You have this network effect that keeps chugging along… then you’re going to have some kind of event that opens that valve up.”
