France regulators have given Binance the green light to run a digital asset trading platform. Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume.
A blog post dated Wednesday, May 4, 2022 stated that Binance was registered in France as a Digital Asset Service Provider by the country’s stock exchange regulator, Autorite des marches financières (AMF). The post also mentioned that Binance had been approved by the Autorite de Controle Prudentiel et de Resolution in France. This was after the exchange met strict requirements set forth by French regulators. Binance, a registered DASP will be able to offer crypto trading and custody services to France. Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO, commented on the recent development. He said that the AMF and ACPR showed a commitment and innovation which made it possible for Binance navigate the whole application process. Binance France is now a registered DASP trusted in France, which means that users can be confident in Binance France.
Binance’s DASP registration marks a landmark for Europe’s crypto exchange. The company also received licenses in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Puerto Rico.
