Alameda-Backed Router Protocol Announces Avalanche Integration

Ramani Ramachandran is co-founder and chief executive at Router Protocol. He believes the integration will advance the mission to create a multi-blockchain future.

Router Protocol – Avalanche

Singapore-headquartered Router Protocol has integrated Avalanche network’s C-Chain to its cross-chain messaging protocol. According to CryptoPotato’s official press release, this development will allow users to leverage Avalanche network through cross-chain transfers and swaps among blockchains like Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, (BSC), or Avalanche C.chain.

The integration means that users of the Avalanche smart contracts can now buy digital assets on other networks like Polygon and BSC in one transaction, without leaving the network.

Router Protocol was founded in 2020. It aims to facilitate seamless bridging infrastructure between existing and emerging Layer 1 & Layer 2 blockchain solutions.

What does Avalanche Integration mean for users?

Integration is designed to address issues related to increasing number of “siloed” and unconnected blockchains, which can hinder the industry’s growth. It also aims to create the necessary infrastructure to connect all EVM and non-EVM chains.

Access to a proprietary pathfinder algorithm allows users to aggregate decentralized exchanges in order to determine the best cross-chain swap rates. Router’s integration will allow for fast-finality and low-fee asset transfers. This includes USD Coin (USDC), Avalanche(AVAX), Polygon [MATIC] and Binance Coin (“BNB).

Router Protocol’s forthcoming software developer kit (SDK), will allow developers to create cross-chain apps to communicate with different chains, including Avalanche.

This latest development comes three years after Router was awarded $4.1 million in strategic funding. Alameda Research and Polygon are among the industry leaders that participated in the round.

Ramachandran, Router CEO, stated that the capital infusion was successful.

We are thrilled to have this amazing team of investors partners. Beyond just capital, all of these investors have been deeply involved–hands-on–in the design and development of Router as well as DFYN, as we look to build critical, scalable cross-blockchain infrastructure that is the need of the hour.”
