BlockFi, a cryptocurrency lending platform, surveyed more than 1,000 women in America to assess their attitudes and knowledge towards the sector. The results showed that every third of American women plan to invest in cryptocurrency by the end the year. 60% also indicated that they will buy crypto within the next three months.
Women are making their way in the crypto world
Over the years, digital assets have steadily grown in popularity. It is important to note that there is a large gender gap in the field. Most people who find it fascinating are men.
A recent BlockFi study found that females are becoming more involved in the digital asset ecosystem. 33% of 1,031 women surveyed intend to join the digital asset ecosystem before 2022 ends, and 60% plan to do so within the next 90 days.
Females are also becoming more aware of crypto. 92% of participants said they had heard about Bitcoin and other altcoins.
Asset class is often seen as a financial tool that can help people achieve specific goals. One fifth of the women surveyed said that they use crypto to purchase a house or vacation fund.
One-fourth of participants believe that bitcoin is a good long-term investment. However, only 4% of participants believe NFTs serve the same purpose.
Some of them are already HODLers
24% of the US women surveyed admitted to owning digital assets. 70% are HODLers (having purchased over the years but still maintaining their possessions).
Nearly half of participants claimed to know how to buy crypto. Comparatively, only 23% of participants knew how to do this six months ago.
As 71% of the population chose Bitcoin, it is the most preferred asset. Dogecoin (42%) was second and Ethereum (18%) third.
The industry offers opportunities for women. One in 10 participants said that crypto was the most promising career field, twice the number who identified fintech.
10% of respondents indicated that they plan to apply for a position at a blockchain-focused business within the next 12 months. Flori Marquez, founder and SVP Operations at BlockFi, spoke on the subject.
“It is very exciting to see that women are more aware of the advantages of crypto and express interest in working within the crypto sector. I hope that crypto will be an integral part of every person’s financial wellbeing plan in the future.
